Applied Concepts Awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification

TULLY, NEW YORK (MARCH 21, 2008)
Applied Concepts Inc., Tully, New York, has announced that it has been awarded the ISO
9001:2000 certification, an internationally recognized quality management system standard
developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), for its Tully, New York
headquarters and manufacturing facility.
ISO 9001:2000 applies to industries involved in the design and development, manufacturing,
installation, and servicing of products. The ISO certification process ensures on-going compliance
to standards of performance because, once certified, companies are externally audited every six
months for continuous execution of the standards. Conformance to ISO 9001:2000 quality
assurance standards required the implementation of procedural changes, training, increased
documentation, and adjustments to operating systems on every level of the manufacturing process.
The company spent nine months on the process implementation and certification for its managerial,
engineering and customer service systems at its Tully, New York manufacturing facility. External
auditors with DLS Quality Technology Associates, Inc., a leading quality management systems
registrar, visited Applied Concepts’ headquarters in January 2008, and spent several days
conducting a comprehensive audit. Certification was achieved on the first attempt.
