A SERIES OF COMPLETE LED DRIVER SOLUTIONS FOR
HIGH BRIGHT LIGHT EMITTING DIODES (HBLEDs)
TULLY, New York, August 31, 2006 - Applied Concepts Inc., a leading supplier of power conversion solutions, has today announced the addition of the I-DRIVE™ Series of complete LED driver solutions to its family of power supply products. The I-DRIVE™ Series represents the latest in technology for driving High Bright Light Emitting Diodes (HBLEDs), and provides a complete solution in a compact and electrically efficient package. Primarily used in backlighting LCD displays, light emitting diodes require a DC constant current to operate efficiently. Features of the drivers include:
- Drive one, two or three channels of series connected LEDs at constant current from nominal input voltage of +12Vdc
- Multiple LEDs can be driven in series to a combined power output of 20 watts per channel
- Multiple devices can be connected in a Master/Slave configuration if more channels and/or power is required
- Output(s) are open and short circuit protected
- Standard features include a LED intensity control via an analog dc control level and enable control. Other control options can be made available upon request.
Simple to connect and operate, the I-DRIVE™ Series can support a wide range of output current and voltage levels to complement every high bright LED application as required. The I-DRIVE™ three channel LED driver solution includes a color sensor input with on-board color management firmware to support RGB High Bright LED applications.
The Applied Concepts I-DRIVE™ Series complete LED driver solutions provide significant advantages over alternative solutions which generally provide a discrete control chip, schematic and little else in the way of unique application or integration support. In 1000 piece quantities, the single channel I-DRIVE™ is priced at $32.00, the two channel I-DRIVE™ is priced at $47.00 and the three channel I-DRIVE™ is priced at $60.00.
